How Green Square Health can help you live your best life
Specialist general practice is whole person care, characterised by the provision of person centred, continuing and comprehensive medical care to individuals and families in their communities.
As a relationship-based discipline, general practice seeks to build health, wellbeing and resilience through a continuing patient-doctor relationship of trust, clinical acumen, the application of best available evidence in the unique context of each consultation, and planned coordination of clinical teamwork, resources and services.
The patient’s needs, values and desired health outcomes always remain central to the general practitioner’s evaluation and management processes.
We are a specialist primary care centre. Our GPs provide whole-patient care for individuals and families.
Our goal is to provide the highest quality healthcare in an efficient and compassionate setting. The information contained on this page will help you to access our services.
We provide all GP services and many specialist services that most General Practices do not provide, including:
IUD insertions, advanced skin surgery, expert cosmetic medicine, HIV management and expertise in PREP.
Please don’t hesitate to speak to one of our staff if you require further information or assistance.
After hours medical care is provided by the practitioners at Green Square Health. Please see the contact us page to access the after-hours service.
The surgery is based on appointments however, there will be appointments allocated for patients on the day for those needing same-day appointments. We suggest that you ring first thing in the morning to secure a time.
If you believe that you have a number of complex issues, please ask for a longer appointment. Your doctor or the reception staff will help determine the length of time you may need.
If you are unwell, please tell the receptionist who will alert our clinical staff to assess the urgency of your illness and determine when you can be seen.
Patients who walk in will be offered the next available appointment.
Appointments can also be made online via Hotdoc. You can access this through our website or using the Hotdoc app on your mobile device.
Please ensure you arrive before your scheduled appointment time, as there may be a risk your doctor may not be able to see you or fit you in again on the same day, and a cancellation fee may be applied.
GP Appointments: To cancel appointments please call at least 24 hours before the appointment so that another patient can be seen in your place. If cancellation occurs within 2 hours of the appointment time a cancellation fee will be applied.
Specialists Appointments: To cancel appointments please call at least 72 hours before the appointment so that another patient can be seen in your place. If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of the appointment time a cancellation fee will be applied.
Green Square Health is a private billing practice committed to providing high-quality health care to all members of the community. Billing takes into account both the time spent and the complexity of the consultation with each individual patient.
Fees are payable at the time of consultation by EFTPOS, credit card or cash.
*For more information about our fees, please speak to reception or visit our fees page at https://gshealth.com.au/fees
Medical certificates are legal documents and are permitted only if you present for consultation with a doctor with a valid reason for work absence.
*Please note that we’re not permitted by law to backdate medical certificates, and the date of consultation/attendance will be marked on the document. Dates of illness will reflect the actual duration of illness, and this may predate the presentation.
As test results are an important part of your medical care and may need explanation and further action, for any discussion of your results please make an appointment to see your doctor.
If you would like to check if all your results have returned you may call our results line on 8197 1125 to speak with our practice nurse. The results line operates Monday to Friday from 1 PM to 2 PM. Please be aware that our nurses can only advise if your results have returned and if an appointment with the GP is required.
Your GP at Green Square Health is a specialist in whole patient care and is qualified to determine, in collaboration with you, whether you need to see a hospital specialist and which type of specialist would best meet your health needs.
For this reason, it is essential that you make an appointment to see your GP for any referral to a specialist.
*Please note that we’re not permitted by law to back date referrals, so please ensure that you have a current referral before you see the specialist
