How to Receive Your Test Results
If a doctor needs to review your results with you
You will be contacted by SMS, phone, or letter if a follow-up appointment is required.
This means your doctor has determined that further discussion is clinically important.
Checking if your results have arrived
If you would like to confirm whether all of your test results have been received:

Hours: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Please note:
- It can take up to one week for all results to be processed.
- Our nurses can only confirm whether results have arrived — they cannot interpret, explain, or discuss them.
Why you may need an appointment to discuss results
A number on a report rarely tells the full story. Even “normal” or “abnormal” results need to be interpreted in the context of your individual health, including:
- your symptoms
- your medical history
- your medications
- your risk factors
- the reason the test was ordered
Because of this, discussing results requires a privately billed appointment with your doctor.
This ensures you receive safe, thorough, and personalised medical advice — not just a reading from a report.
Appointments are essential for:
- understanding what your result means specifically for you
- reviewing any symptoms or concerns
- planning treatment or next steps
- interpreting multiple or complex results
- ensuring nothing important is overlooked

Alternatively, you can contact our reception team on 02 9699 8111, and they will help you book an appropriate appointment.
If you are booking to discuss results only, a standard 15-minute appointment is suitable.
If you would like to discuss your results and any other concerns, we recommend booking a
30-minute long appointment to ensure your doctor has adequate time.
